The CC-TOP Mid-term Workshop took place at the charming city of La Rochelle, France.
It was organized by the network´s Early Stage Researchers (ESRs) as a satellite meeting to Biotrans 2023 conference – the 16th International Symposium on Biocatalysis and Biotransformations.
From Saturday 24th to Thursday 29th June 2023, the whole CC-TOP network gathered in La Rochelle to participate in our Mid-term Workshop and then attend the Biotrans 2023.
During the Mid-term Workshop we welcomed the members of the new Scientific Advisory Board (SAB): Prof. Hilvert of ETH Zürich, Dr. Erik de Vries of Enzymicals and Dr. Francesco Falcioni of AstraZeneca. All 15 ESRs presented their research progress and received valuable scientific and career advice from the SAB members and the PIs.
Afterwards, the ESRs along their PIs attended Biotrans 2023, where CC-TOP was one of the protagonists:
Our PI Professor Laurence Hecquet was host and organizer, the Biotrans 2023 Senior Award went to Prof. Donald Hilvert adding one more honour to his long list achievements. The Senior Award was presented by our leading PI and CC-TOP Coordinator, Prof. Woody Fessner. Moreover, ESR15 Diletta Arceri was selected for a pitch talk, and ESR5 Alessia Tonoli won one of the poster prizes: Congratulations to them all for standing out!
Biotrans 2023 was a great opportunity for all our ESRs to present their science within the poster session and to extend their network with fellow students and senior researchers from both academia and the industry.
The conference programme was packed with the latest advances in the biocatalysis field, highlighting new research and inspiring new research paths.
